Limited Edition Print Sizes and Prices

Most of the pictures from the book and exhibition titled “Beyond: Visions of the Interplanetary Probes” are available for acquisition by individual collectors, museums, corporations and institutions. Dimensions of the prints are in response to the optimal print quality obtainable given the size of the source file. Extensive testing was conducted to determine the best ratio of image dimensions to image quality. All pictures are identified by book page number. Pricing is determined by print dimensions and edition size.

The second printing of Beyond resulted in some new pictures being added to the Mars chapter. Several of these new pictures can also be seen in the exhibition (now at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC.) To minimize confusion, all of the pictures added in the second printing are identified below, and can be clicked on and viewed. (The Japanese edition of the book, which was published in 2005, has the same pictures as the English-language second printing.)

Some pictures from Beyond are missing from the below list, including most of the Earth, Uranus and Neptune shots. Test printing is still underway to determine correct print size on these pictures. If you don’t see what you are interested in here, please drop a line to prints@kinetikonpictures.com and ask about the status of that shot.

In addition, a number of spectacular Mars, Saturn and Io pictures that didn’t make it into the second printing of Beyond – but are either in the current exhibition at the American Museum of Natural History or will soon be exhibited in other venues – are also now available in limited edition.  These pictures are listed in section 11 below; each can be clicked on and viewed. A separate page is also available to highlight all of these new, previously unpublished images in one place. To go directly there, click here.

All prints are numbered, rubber-stamped with a Kinetikon Pictures logo that also indicates in which page of the book they are reproduced, and initialed. All prints are shipped rolled in tubes, except those only sold matted. Matted prints are shipped in rigid wood-framed flats. Shipping is paid for by the collector. Mounting and framing suggestions and a certificate of authenticity are provided for each print (or matted print composition). International shipments are easily facilitated. All images come as top quality photographic prints in the sizes mentioned above only. No other medium or method of reproduction is offered (no slides, transparencies, or scans). All prints, whether black-and-white or color, are printed on color paper in the direct-digital photographic process, and should be treated with the appropriate care.

Although most but not all pictures from “Beyond: Visions of the Interplanetary Probes” originated in raw or partially processed form from NASA sources, all final fully processed digital images from the project are either ©Kinetikon Pictures (and may not be reproduced in any way without specific permission) or are reproduced with the permission of the copyright holder.
